140,000 colorful pieces of paper were installed as a celebration of a Japanese soda company’s anniversary by Tokyo based French architect, Emmanuelle Moureaux. The installation is composed of 46 hiragana characters and organized into a rainbow grid. This article caught my eye because just the picture of the installation is mesmerizing. The “universe” created by hanging pieces of paper is truly impressive. This work also reminded me of a sculpture created by small vials of different colored liquids at Philadelphia’s annual Chinese Lantern Festival.
