Though man set foot on the moon 50 years ago, not much relative progress has since been made in bringing more people to space. However, with the growth of new companies like SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Virgin Galactic, there is new hope for potential civilian space travel in the coming years. With that in mind, a Californian company called The Gateway Foundation created a design for the Von Braun Station, a “cruise ship-style hotel floating among the stars” that they hope to be operational by 2027. I find it interesting how the company explored a new, visually appealing design scheme for space while keeping practical space-related safety and practicality matters in check. I recommend that you check out the article below that describes the new development.

So interesting!!! I think the look of this seems inspired by a current hotel, and Star Trek. It makes me think about how much our designs are influenced by pop culture.
