Toblerone Logo

I wanted to share this logo because I have seen it many times in my life, but never recognized its use of negative space. The negative space in the mountain creates the silhouette of a bear, which was something that I had never actually noticed until now. The shape of the chocolate and the mountain in the logo were inspired by the Matterhorn, a mountain in Switzerland. The decision to create a bear with the negative space was a reference to Bern, the “City of Bears”, because the Toblerone Chocolate Company originated from Bern, Switzerland. I thought it was cool that the logo was able to reflect the heritage of the brand in a subtle way.
