Snow White

As a huge Disney fan, the fact that Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was the first animated feature to be produced in English and in Technicolor is very interesting. It’s hard to believe that that level of animation was able to be released so long ago in 1937 (in Hollywood), but it goes to show how early on people were working on animation. Even though there were critics of the idea of this film since they thought no one would sit and watch a movie about dwarves, including Mr. Disney’s wife, it did very well and is still a classic 82 years later.

I LOVE THIS FILM. Early Disney is amazing, especially when you realize how painstaking it was to draw each frame. If you want to see another early Disney, Merbabies is a very early short film he did. I think it is available on Youtube.
