The centerpiece of Franklin Square recently underwent a $2 million makeover this past summer. The renovation included installation of jets, air-powered nozzles, geysers, swivels and more mechanisms of water design in order to provide a lively fountain show by the oldest public fountain in the United States. The shows are accompanied by songs ranging from classics like Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” to pop hits like Katy Perry’s “Fireworks”. The fountain debuted its first show since the renovation on August 1st, and will be concluding its fountain shows for the season this upcoming Thursday, October 31st. I’ve had the chance to see the Christmas fountain show in 2018 which was breathtaking, but I haven’t had a chance to see the new fountain shows since the renovations. I’m hoping to be able to make it out to Franklin square at some point this week to check it out!
If you like that, Longwood Gardens has a beautiful fountain display as well.
